How one Texas city handles marijuana possession

In one Texas city, starting on Dec. 1, 2017, people who would have been taken to jail for marijuana possession in the past are now cited and released. From Dec. 1 to May 7, there were 56 citations in Dallas. Of those people cited, 24 were Hispanic and 27 were black.

CBD products may soon be banned in Texas

Police in Texas seize marijuana products from out of state

In one week, police in Ballinger reported seizing drugs during traffic stops of travelers from out of state and even Canada. According to a department spokesperson, vehicle searches produced 8.1 grams of methamphetamine, 12.7 grams of Xanax, 2,413 grams of THC extracted from marijuana and 20.98 grams of marijuana. An officer said that the department warns people traveling to states where marijuana is legal that it is illegal if they bring it back to Texas.
